Forschungsschwerpunkt
My research interests focus on the complex relationships between humans and nature. As a social ecologist, I am particularly interested in environmental and social justice issues related to land use and nature conservation. This includes the examination of land use conflicts and their sources, the social acceptability of land management and conservation measures, landscape perception, and the socio-cultural values of landscapes. My most recent research explores the concept of rewilding in both urban and rural contexts, examining its potential and social implications.
I usually adopt an interdisciplinary and multi-methodological approach using qualitative interviews, questionnaire surveys, and GIS-based mapping to translate people's perceptions and values into tools for landscape planning and management.
